    Slate Fountain and Statue Foundation - 88 inch Square

    A fountain only works on a level base, and a heavy one will not stay level on soft ground for long. This is an 88 inch square concrete fountain base in a slate pattern — the largest foundation Giannini makes, sized for the biggest fountains in the range, including the eight-foot Grand Chateau and the Urbino Maximus. The square format sits naturally against paving and steps, and the slate face is flatter and more contemporary than the cobblestone pattern. Made to order in the USA.

    Important: The spot you choose should be firm and level. These pieces are heavy. On soft or uneven ground a piece this weight will settle over time, and settling is what makes it lean or crack. Set it on a solid, level base. A concrete pad works well, and it also stops rain, sprinklers and splash from eroding the ground underneath and pulling the piece out of level.
